Dear Family and Friends,
We are presently in the US in South Carolina, to spend Christmas with my daughter Leigh and granddaughter Lola.
As we celebrate Christmas, and read about the birth of JESUS from Matthew 2, we learn that the wise men went to look for JESUS to WORSHIP HIM.
Since Oct, we have been ministering a fair bit on WORSHIP. We've done a seminar on "Heart of Worship" together with good friends Andrew and Ingrid Greeff for the SALT Church in Gawler and we also led a "Night of Worship" at the Karobran New Life Centre, which is a Drug and Alcohol Rehab in Naracoorte, South Australia. When we sing songs of Praise and Thanksgiving, it is only one expression of Worship.
By definition, Worship is said to mean a bowing down in reverence. Worship is in essence about submission to GOD. Worship is about surrendering to GOD, and it is no coincidence that we raise our hands in a posture of surrender when we worship GOD in song.
It is one thing to know that JESUS is LORD and quite another to make JESUS LORD over our life. When we Worship GOD in Spirit and in Truth as JESUS spoke about in John 4, it is about making HIM LORD over our life. If we acknowledge that Worship is indeed about surrendering and submission to GOD, then it follows that Worship has to be a way of life.
This Christmas and New Year, let us all make a determined purpose to Worship JESUS, to surrender and submit our will as HE did, when HE chose to go to the cross. Let us always begin our prayers as he taught us, and ask for the Father's Will be done in our lives. My daughter Tandy shared this saying recently when she ministered: "A life totally surrendered, is a life truly lived" - this is the Heart of Worship, when we bow down on the inside of us, in our hearts.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Much Love,
Glenda and Philip
