Words of LifeTHE WORD of GOD does not return void Isaiah 55:11 “So shall My Word be, which goes out of My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall certainly do what I sent it to do.” The WORD of GOD does not return void. When we are given a word from the LORD, many get disappointed when it doesn’t come to pass almost immediately. We want it NOW. Some are patient for a few days, weeks and perhaps months. But then disappointment starts to creep in. If we look back at Abraham, we see that the WORD of GOD on Isaac, the child of promise, was first given to Abraham before Ishmael was born. Ishmael was born when Abraham was 86 years old. Isaac was born when Abraham was 100 years old. In other words, it is clear that more than 14 years passed from the time the WORD was first given to Abraham. In Genesis 18:14, the Bible goes on to say the WORD of GOD returns “at the appointed time”. God’s timing is perfect. The passing of time seems to be GOD’s way of allowing us to prepare ourselves, and to restore ourselves. If you have been given a WORD, never let it go, never lose hope. Keep your Hope in GOD – placing Hope in GOD’s WORD is to have the confidence that it will be done…at HIS timing. |
