Letters & TestimoniesLetter from Dave Dawkins to his parents Dear Mum & Dad, There are many incredible architecture designs throughout the world. From the Eiffel tower to the Sydney harbour bridge, from the Sears tower to the many sky scrapers of the world. But without a solid foundation these structures would fail to stand. I want to thank you both for the incredible foundation you have given me in life. And the cornerstone of that foundation is Jesus Christ. Your love, concern, care, example, belief & support have been amazing. I want you to both know that I am forever grateful for everything you have done for me. Dad, thank you for always providing for the family. Your sacrifice in working whilst pastoring has never gone unnoticed by me and has been a great example. Mum, your cooking, cleaning and all the little things you do around the house have been so appreciated. Thank you for allowing me to stay for as long as I have and for always having room for me. As I embark on this new adventure, my one and only desire is to serve God to the best of my ability and to fulfill His calling on my life. I have been entrusted with much and it's my responsibility to become all I can become in Christ to follow His plan for my life. This has been instilled in me from a very early age by you both. It's something I’ve never been able to explain, but it's like my life is being led by an invisible hand. There's something on my life that I can't shake and I know there is a destiny for me to fulfill. And to fulfill that destiny requires sacrifice. No one has ever done anything amazing for God without sacrifice. This is without a doubt the hardest thing I have ever had to do. But God will grant me the strength. Thank you so much for displaying a relationship with God and for bringing me up in the ways of God. That will be your greatest mark and legacy. I could be back within three months or I may not be. That is in the hands of God and I endeavour to hear from Him and obey. Whatever happens I love you more than words can explain and I am honoured to have been brought up and to belong in this family. May the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords be glorified and lifted up and I pray that we will win as many into the Kingdom of God as we can. Lots and lots of love, |
